(Denver, Co.) March 21, 2019— Donna Beth Creations, a Denver bridal gown alteration studio, is doing its part to help during the COVID-19 crisis by changing “I Do” to “I Can.” By making medical masks for local healthcare workers.

For 35 years, owner Donna Savoy has made it her mission to make her brides wedding dresses perfect. With business slow right now, the lifelong seamstress has turned her attention to those whoa are on the front lines of this battle. “I’m seeing all this news saying doctors and nurses are in dire need of masks and other supplies…” That’s when Donna decided to help. “…we have cloth, we have the best seamstresses, so why not help?”

It comes naturally to Donna, from South Louisiana, Donna has a strong sense of community and resilience. “I’m from a little town called Church Point. We’ve been through hurricanes, floods, you name it. We help each other there. That’s what we do, and that’s what I try to instill in my family and my employees.”

Her employees have taken notice. “People in other industries are getting laid off left and right, but not here. Donna Beth is thinking outside the box. We are able to keep working for now and help at the same time.” Said Sarah Slack, senior seamstress. “I’m really proud to be able to help, even if its something simple like this.”

Donna is calling on other industries to think outside the box and find creative ways of helping if possible. “I saw that distilleries are making hand sanitizer, we are making masks, everyone can help in some way. That’s how we get through this, we come together, we do what needs to be done, and we help each other out.”

Donna said that if the need arises, she will make medical gowns as well.
